Easy Way for Parents to Send in Absence Excuses to Worthington!
We encourage the use of our absence email address to accurately receive and archive absence excuse notes.
Email WOESAbsence@hcpss.org.
Please include in your email the following information:
- Child's name
- Parent's full name and phone number
- Teacher
- Grade
- Date of absence
- Reason for the absence. If a reason is not included, the absence will be considered unlawful. You may copy your child's teacher on the attendance email if you'd like.
Please Be Advised: Even if you have notified WOES of your upcoming absence, HCPSS will send out an automated e-mail message whenever a student is absent. We will make sure your child is marked accurately on their attendance record.
If there is a health issue you would like the teacher and health office to know about, you can use this email address as well.
Discretionary absences (up to 3 days per school year) can be requested by completing this form:
Late Arrivals
The school building opens at 9:10 AM. If your student isn't in their classroom by the late bell (9:25 am), he/she/they is considered late.
If you arrive at 9:25 AM or after, you MUST park your car, and walk your child to the building to sign in with a staff member. This is for the safety of your child and accuracy of attendance.
NEW THIS YEAR: Please be sure to bring your smart phone and use the QR Code located in the main vestibule to sign your child in as a late arrival. Once signed in, please ring the doorbell and the Front Office Staff will let your child into the building to proceed to class.
Please Be Advised: Tardies are tracked on your student(s) report card.
Early Dismissals
Please bring your driver's license. If your student has an early dismissal, please make certain he/she/they is picked up before 3:30 pm to make certain you are out before our buses begin to arrive. Early dismissals cannot be conducted after 3:30 pm.
NEW THIS YEAR: Please be sure to bring your smart phone and use the QR Code located in the main vestibule to sign your child out for early dismissal. Once signed out, please ring the doorbell and the Front Office Staff will call your child from class for dismissal.
If you arrive after 3:30 pm, you will need to wait in the car loop line until our regular dismissal begins. It is best to alert your child(s) teacher and the front office regarding early dismissals ahead of time by emailing to the following address: WOESAbsence@hcpss.org.
